I know that people are entitled to their opinions and I know that I should respect them and their opinions, but damn. This just irks me so much. 

I just really, really hope that the author of the confession didn’t like Nine/Rose relationship. Because the age difference between Billie and Chris is 18 years. I mean, come on. It’s almost 20 years! It clearly is not okay. And also, the age difference between Billie and David is 11 years. Which is less than 20 years, less than 18 years, but come on. It’s still a lot.

Idiotic, isn’t it? Yes, it is. Because:

a) I don’t know if you haven’t noticed, but we cannot choose when we’re born. Shocking, I know.

b) actors =/= characters they portray. So Doctor & River =/= Matt & Alex. 

And if we look at it character-wise, not actor-wise, then wow. Doctor is 900+ yo, right? Every single one of his companions is basically over 800 years younger than he is. So if 20 year age difference is ‘wrong’ and doesn’t allow someone to ship two characters, then what about 800+ year age difference?

I really don’t get the whole ‘omg, age difference’ thing. If it didn’t stop you from liking Nine/Rose or Ten/Rose, why would you stop it from liking River/Doctor? Why? What - a man can be 20 years older, but a woman cannot? Even if we’re talking about actors portraying fictional characters? 

You don’t have to ship River/Doctor. Shit, you don’t have to like them. And it’s fine, I’ll accept it. But saying that you don’t like them and their fictional relationship because of the age difference between actors - it makes me want to punch you over the internet.

I really don’t get the age difference issue at all, even if the characters were anything like the age they look. Yeah, people at different places in their lives may clash but one, where you are in life doesn’t always have to do with age and two, it’s no bodies damn business how the relationship works but the people in the relationship.

As long everyone is an adult what the hell does it matter?

The Doctor is a good 900+ years older than everyone he’s ever slept with, barring Susan’s grandmother and the Master. They’re all consenting adults, it’s really not such a big deal.

Whining about the age difference is so old hat, what’s it going to take for everyone to just accept the premise that the Doctor is 900+ years old?! So, any woman between 1-1000 can be all lovey-dovey with him for all I care.
